The 24-Hour Problem
BC Hydro is asking data centres to promise they will power down on a day's notice. The promise is doing more work than the design can support.
[Opening paragraph — the hook. Lead with the concrete detail, not the background. Something like: a training run that cannot be paused, or the moment a curtailment call arrives and nobody knows who picks up the phone.]
[Second paragraph — establish what the Call for Demand is, briefly, for a reader who has never heard of it. Two or three sentences, no more.]
What the commitment asks
[Explain the 24-hour notice provision and what it implies operationally.]
Why it may not hold
[The argument. This is the piece.]
What would make it work
[Your recommendation. Be specific — notice period, penalty structure, whether obligations should be tradeable.]
